There are many teams in the NFL who will have tougher schedules than others. The odds of these teams to win Super Bowl 50 are somewhat reflective of these tough schedules although the quality of the players on these teams can also make a big impact.
The NFC West Is a Challenge
The teams in the NFC West will have some tough schedules to bear with as each of the division’s four teams will take in teams in the AFC North and NFC North. However, the Seattle Seahawks are early favorites to win the Super Bowl with 6-1 odds. Much of this comes from the Seahawks not only retaining many of the team’s free agents but also from the team’s acquisition of tight end Jimmy Graham. The Seahawks’ opponents had a .559 winning percentage last year.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers have 50-1 odds to win, if you look at the SBG Global gambling odds. Much of this could be accounted to the uncertainly surrounding the team’s coaching situation and the leadership of quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The Niners’ opponents held a .561 winning percentage in 2014.
The AFC North Is Also Hard
The four AFC North teams have games with the NFC West and AFC West this year, thus making their schedules all the more challenging. In particular, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the hardest schedule in the NFL as their opponents had a total record of 147-107-2 or .579 last year. The 30-1 odds for the Steelers to win it all is reflective of this.
Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals are not too far behind the Steelers. They have the second-hard schedule with their opponents having a .563 record last year. The team has 40-1 odds to win but much of this could be based on not only the tough schedule but also concerns over whether or not quarterback Andy Dalton is the right man for the job in town.
Outside Those Divisions
The teams with the hardest schedule outside the AFC North and NFC West are the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders. Their opponents had a winning percentage of .545 in 2014. The Chiefs have 40-1 odds but the Raiders, whose situation at quarterback remains a mystery, are at 100-1.
